Weekly planning — TeamsREC 24:31
MartaShipping cut-off is Thursday — can we hold the release until the importer fix lands?
YouYes. I'll have it merged tomorrow and we tag the build right after.
DevonThen I'll draft the changelog tonight so review isn't blocking.
✓ Action item — You: merge importer fix by tomorrow
MartaPerfect, then let's
The whole point
Your meetings never leave the room.
Recording, transcription, speaker identity, and AI summaries all run on your Mac's own silicon. No Dettato server ever sees your meetings — there isn't one to send them to.
🎙
Your call is captured
Your mic and the meeting app's audio, tapped straight from Core Audio. Survives crashes and AirPods swaps.
→
⚙️
Your Mac does the work
Whisper and Parakeet on the Neural Engine, a local LLM on Metal — all of it on your Mac's own silicon.
→
📄
Your transcript stays put
Your recordings and library live in one folder on your disk. Search it, export it, delete it. Yours.
Audio uploaded to our cloud: somenone.
Out of the box, the app's network activity is model downloads, a license check,
and — only with your OK — update checks. Cloud engines, webhooks, and URL imports
run only if you set them up. The privacy policy is
short enough to actually read.
Quietly capable
Everything a meeting needs.
Built for people who live in calls but keep what's said to themselves.
Records on its own
Detects calls in Teams, Zoom, Webex, and browser meetings — catches the start, stops when you hang up.
On-device transcription
Apple Speech, Whisper, or Nvidia Parakeet on Apple Silicon. Cloud engines only if you bring keys.
Knows who spoke
On-device diarization plus voiceprints that suggest recurring people — you confirm once, it learns their voice.
Summaries & actions
A local LLM writes the recap and pulls action items. Or bring your own OpenAI-compatible key.
Doesn't lose meetings
Crash mid-call, force-quit, yank your AirPods — Dettato recovers the recording on relaunch. Worst case costs minutes, never the meeting.
Automation-friendly
Watch folders transcribe the audio you drop in them; the dettato CLI scripts the rest.
Pay once, or don't
No subscription. Obviously.
Your transcripts live on your Mac — so there's no server bill to pass along.
The .pkg installer also ships the dettato command-line tool — it stays free and ungated.
Fair questions
Asked and answered.
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
Never. Recording, transcription, diarization, and summaries all run on your Mac. The only exception is if you explicitly configure an optional cloud engine with your own API key — then audio goes directly to that provider you chose, never to Dettato.
Do I need a subscription?
No. The Free tier is unlimited forever, and Pro is a single $39 payment. There are no Dettato servers to pay for, so there's nothing to subscribe to.
Which Macs does Dettato run on?
Dettato requires macOS 26 (Tahoe) or later on an Apple Silicon Mac — the on-device transcription, speaker identification, and AI stack are built on the newest system frameworks and the Apple Neural Engine.
When can I buy it?
Soon — the app is done, the store is set up and in final review with our payment provider, and we're completing Apple's Developer ID signing and notarization so your download opens without warnings, the way a Mac app should. Email dettato@proton.me and we'll tell you the moment it ships.
What's the refund policy?
If Dettato Pro isn't for you, you get a full refund within 14 days of purchase. One email, no forms.
